LCVS Gleaners Program (6-Month Review)

LCVS has provided 39 participants $319.20 in Gleaners provided food via the Shared Harvest Program. As a result, this pilot program has provided a stopgap in addressing food insecurity for County veterans. Gleaners mobile food pantry distribution is scheduled for December 4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at LCVS. LCVS has 25 confirmed participants for this event.

Recommended motion: Motion to authorize continuation of program with Gleaners as currently being implemented.

Livingston County Veteran Committee Meeting Calendar for 2024

Recommend Motion:  Motion to authorize scheduled meetings on the following 2024 dates at 5:30pm:  1/17; 2/21; 3/20; 4/17; 5/15; 6/19; 7/17; 8/21; 9/18; 10/16; 11/20; 12/18.

Director Reports

LCVS Military Recognition event is scheduled for November 9 at 3 p.m.

VETLIFE Harvest for Heroes is scheduled for November 17 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at LCVS. Registrations for this event are on-going and are similar to prior years. In addition, Two Men and a Truck held a Stuff a Truck event on October 26 and items from this event will be distributed, as well.

LCVS is a Toys for Tots collection site until December 15.

Veteran Assistance Programs Manual:  Revise guidelines for “Housing” and add Financial Plan Acknowledgement.
